As part of the ASCENT DR-TB approach, community structures will be supported to raise awareness, enhance treatment literacy by people with TB, and advocate for accessible and person-centred care. This project will also complement other projects that are advancing work led by communities and civil society.

This activity is led by Treatment Action Group (TAG), ASCENT DR-TB Consortium partner. At the moment, we have partnered with eight community organizations across different countries:

  • Rahama Girl Child and Women Empowerment Initiative, Nigeria
  • Yayasan Penyintas Tuberkulosis TERBESAR Yogyakarta, Indonesia
  • ChildLife Mozambique
  • TBEC and TB People Ukraine
  • Ethiopian TB Association
  • Gwebindlala HIV/AIDS Organization, South Africa
  • Centre for Community Development Initiatives (SCDI), Vietnam
  • Initiative for Prevention and Control of Disease, Nigeria

See bellow their reflections on the DR-TB work they are doing in their communities as part of the ASCENT DR-TB project.
